Hollister, San Benito County
The Calaveras Fault runs directly under Hollister, and its slow, steady creep has bent curbs, sidewalks and walls out of line across several blocks of town. About thirty miles to the south lies Pinnacles National Park, a landscape of volcanic spires and talus caves that was made a national monument in 1908 and a national park in 2013. California condors nest among its cliffs.
